Queen Bee Films

A day packed with meetings, producers, lawyers, sales agents, distributors and buyers from around the globe. Time difference means I'm still waking at the crack of dawn which gave me time for a swim and a steam but I still managed to meet an indian buyer before breakfast.

Producer Andy Thompson was incredibly kind and generous with his time and support. I learned more from that meeting than many a film course. 

The highlight of the day was an amazing meeting with Brandon Paine from Shoreline Entertainment. It was great to meet him again after first meeting with him at the Cannes Film Festival. Brandon has been following my work for three years so it was great to ahnd him a first cut of my movie The Kindness of Strangers. Shoreline are a force to be reckoned with and I an thrilled he liked my film and wants to read the script to the next feature I'm directing Not Only Angels Fly.

Watching the sun set on the beach at Santa Monica was spectacular. As it set the sky on fire with orange and pink we were in a meeting on the patio at The Loews hotel where te AFM is largely based. Sat by the mini bonfire drinkign hot chocolate discussing a possible role for Daniel Craig was a lot of fun.

A walk along the pier later made the mad day seem all the more sureal. There are parties and networkign going on at a manic rate but since it'salmost 4am english time, which is only 8pm, US time I feel I have to admit defeat and get some sleep ready for another packed day tomorrow.

Oh well an early night will mean an early morning and a walk along the ocean which is the best way to start any day even one where I'm working under the california sun.
